  • Permits or licenses are not being mailed; if your online application is approved and you provide your email address, you will get your permit by email.
  • All NYC Health Department licenses and permits that will expire or require renewal are extended for the duration of the State of Emergency in accordance with Emergency Executive Order 107.

You must have a permit for the proposed construction and operation of individual private sewage disposal systems in subdivision realty developments involving 15 or more dwellings.

Fees

The fee for a new permit is $1,310.

The annual renewal fee is $1,870.

The license expires after 1 year

In Person

If you’re applying in person, you will have to complete an application and bring it to the Department of Consumer Affairs Licensing Center or the NYC Small Business Support Center.

Several weeks before your permit expires, the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene will mail you a renewal package.

You can renew online or submit your application in person or by mail.

To renew online, you need to have a Personal Identification Number (PIN) issued by the NYC Health Department.
