Families can connect with incarcerated loved ones through a free video visitation program available at participating City public libraries.

Library Video Visitation connects a live video feed between library locations and NYC Department of Correction (DOC) facilities, allowing incarcerated New Yorkers to talk, read, and share stories together with their families.

Through Library Video Visitation, you can:

  • Communicate with incarcerated loved ones for up to an hour through free live video in semi-private spaces
  • Select from specially curated children’s books to read along with incarcerated parents
  • Meet with social workers from the Osborne Association before and after visits at Brooklyn libraries

You must make an appointment for Library Video Visitation services. Identification is not required to make an appointment, but you will need to provide contact information when you register.

Video sessions are not recorded.

Download the Video Visitation Brochure.
