Sewer Connection Permit

Permits are required for any legal connection to the New York City sewer system, including any installation, repair, plugging, or unplugging of a sewer connection or catch basin.

For new sewer connection, a professional must submit a House Connection Proposal or Site Connection Proposal to the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for review and certification before submitting an Application for Sewer Permit.

DEP only accepts requests for these permits from licensed plumbers. Requests from the general public are not accepted.
