Car rental agencies must:

  • Honor all reservations within one half hour after the reserved time at the reserved price, unless the agency told you that the reservation is not guaranteed.
  • Post a sign with the Consumer Protection Law Rule regarding reservations that includes information about how to file a complaint.
  • Give you a car that seats as many passengers and meets your needs, if the reserved car is unavailable.

You can file a complaint about a contract dispute with a car rental agency in New York City.
