Sponsor a Litter Basket to buy and donate a public litter basket

Individuals or groups may sponsor City litter baskets to prevent trash overflow in high traffic areas. The sponsor must monitor the basket and change the liner when the basket is full.

The Department of Sanitation provides liner bags and a collection schedule.

Adopt a litter basket.

Adopt-A-Basket program participants will receive basket liners approximately every 60 days. If you are enrolled in the program and have run out of liners, you can request more.

311 can submit a request for additional liners for your adopted litter basket. Each box will be delivered by the Department of Sanitation.

Liners can only be requested for and delivered to the address enrolled in the Adopt-A-Basket program.

You can submit a request to receive the flyers by mail. You should get the guide within 30 days of ordering.

Requests for More Than 99 Copies

If you want to request more than 99 copies of a Department of Sanitation literature item, you must submit a Department of Sanitation Literature Bulk Order.
