    Through Skype, a software application that allows you to make calls over the internet, people from around the world are able to call 311 for free when they add NYC311 as one of their Skype contacts.

    NYC311 Online can provide you with information and access to New York City government services.

    You can submit certain types of Service Requests online. If you provide a valid email address, you will receive an email with your Service Request Number. NYC311 will send your Service Request to the appropriate Agency. The Agency will follow up whether or not you get an email.

    You can check the status of a Service Request on the NYC311 Online homepage, even if you made the request or complaint by phone. You must enter the Service Request number to check the status.

    Languages Supported

    NYC311 Online offers an automated translation tool on the top right-hand side of each page within the site. This tool can translate the site into over 100 languages.

    NYC311 cannot provide information about operating systems or network problems such as:

    • General computer problems
    • Graphic image test (CAPTCHA) problems

    • Data that has not been updated

    How to Create an Account

    You can create an account by selecting the Sign Up button on the right side of the homepage. On the sign-up page:

    • Enter your email address and click the "Send verification code" button.
    • Check your email to get the Verification Code.
    • Enter the code in the appropriate field and click the "Verify code" button.
    • Fill out the remaining fields, and then click Create.
