Coronavirus (COVID-19) Alert

All public schools closed on Monday, March 16th and remained closed for the rest of the 2019-2020 school year. The last day of remote learning was Friday, June 26th.

School sessions for the 2019-2020 school year begin for all students on Thursday, September 5, 2019. The last day for all students is Friday, June 26, 2020.

High School students will not be in attendance. In addition, students in Middle Schools that have grades 6 through 12 will not be in attendance. Students in middle schools that have grades 6 through 8 will be in attendance.
All students in District 75 programs will be in attendance. All other public schools are open and operating on a regular schedule.

Public schools may close, open late, dismiss students early, or cancel field trips and after school activities for severe weather or emergencies.

If there are going to be closures or changes to the schedule, the Department of Education will make an announcement as early as possible before 5 AM on the affected day.

Yellow school bus service may also be delayed or suspended because of severe weather or road conditions. If schools are open, yellow school buses should be operating. For more information about school buses, visit the School Transportation page.

If schools remain open during severe weather or Citywide emergencies, parents should use their discretion when deciding whether to allow their children to attend school.

Charter and private schools do not have to follow the public school calendar or DOE's school closure policy for severe weather or emergencies.

You should contact your child's school directly for information.

Parking is allowed in school zones when school is in recess. However, you should be aware that specific schools may be open on holidays and during summer vacations. Parking restrictions would remain in effect.

Parking restrictions remain in effect while schools are doing distance learning.

Also, when schools are open for summer sessions, teacher meetings, or similar activities, the parking regulations apply on such days, even if students aren't attending.

You should contact the specific school to verify that it's in recess.
