Become a UPK or Pre-K Teacher

The City is seeking talented early childhood educators to lead high-quality UPK classrooms in public schools and community-based organizations.

Housing Subsidy for Teachers

The City will offer housing subsidies of up to $14,600 to encourage new math, science, and special education teachers to work in the City's most challenging schools.  The program will also pay a $400 monthly housing stipend for two years. 

Teachers may live anywhere within the metropolitan region but must commit to work for three years in one of New York City's toughest middle schools or high schools.

Certified candidates who are new to the NYC public school system can go to 65 Court Street in Brooklyn to apply online. The Office of Recruitment schedules appointments every day. Certified candidates who do not have access to a computer may call the Office of Recruitment to schedule an appointment.
