SBS is responsible for ensuring equal employment opportunity in City contracting and compliance on related construction projects. 

SBS conducts periodic work site inspections to make sure contractors are following equal employment opportunity rules and informs workers of the option to make a complaint about unfair practices. These practices include unlawful denial of benefits or fair wages and discrimination based on race, creed, sex, religion or nationality.
