The Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA) is warning businesses to be on the lookout for e-mails that appear to be complaint notifications. These fake e-mails are part of a phishing scam.
Any e-mails claiming to be from the DCA that do not end with “dca.nyc.gov” should not be opened, responded to, or forwarded, and should be deleted immediately.
You can report receiving a fake e-mail to the Department of Consumer Affairs and the Federal Trade Commission.
