Through the Lead Poisoning Prevention Program, the City provides assistance to pregnant women, teens, and children, including:

  • Referrals for blood lead tests
  • Presentations
  • Training and workshops
  • Services for lead-poisoned pregnant women

Children with lead poisoning can experience learning and behavior problems. The City provides the following information and educational material on how to prevent lead poisoning:

  • Information, educational materials and presentations on how to prevent lead poisoning and remove lead paint safely.
  • Referrals to health care providers to get a blood lead test.
  • Case coordination, home inspections, and other services for lead-poisoned children.
