The City is providing free air conditioners to low-income seniors who pre-qualify based on their enrollment in City benefits programs.

These seniors will be identified by the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA), the Department for the Aging (DFTA), the Human Resources Administration (HRA), and the Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD).

Eligibility

If you are eligible, a City case manager will reach out to you directly.

You may be eligible if you:

  • Are 60 years or older, and
  • Do not already have an air conditioner, and
  • Already participate in one or more City benefit programs
